Musika was the title sponsor of the 2022 Best Student in General Agriculture (Degree) at the recent graduation ceremony of Rusangu University.

The award was presented to Cynthia Chipo Mulongo, who achieved the highest cumulative GPA in her class. For her reward, Cynthia was offered a prize in form of cash, a personalized shield and a one-year period of internship with Musika. Musika also awarded Imanga Mutukelwa, a Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture third year student, who got the highest GPA in his class.

The awards were presented by Musika Southern Regional Manager, Natasha Mhende and Human Resource officer, Rodger Mweetwa at a colourful ceremony graced by Education Minister, Hon. Douglas Siakalima, on Sunday 4th September.

The Minister, in his address, appreciated the role that Rusangu University plays as a faith-based institution in partnering with the government of the Republic of Zambia in the provision of higher education.

The minister said his government highly values education as the greatest equalizer hence the policy on free education by the New Dawn government of His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema.

Hon Siakalima further stated that “Rusangu graduates, therefore, should be graduates who have not only academic excellence, but graduates who have practical agility, moral uprightness, and commitment to serve your various communities. Therefore, as you graduate, you should go out there and positively influence society.”

He also urged the graduates to be diligent and exclusively committed to their cause.

Several corporate bodies and church institutions also sponsored awards to high achieving students. These included ZANACO, ABSA, Atlas Mara, NAPSA, Lwengu School, Professional Insurance, NICO Insurance, ZAMREN, Maamba Collieries, NATSAVE, Grant Thornton, JUSTRAYS Construction, Conterra Africa Limited, Penmarks Limited, Golden Pillow Lodge, DLN Institute and ZICA

Musika is a firm believer in education and excellency and that is why it has continued to support and sponsor graduation ceremonies at the University of Zambia – School of Agriculture, Mulungushi University and now Rusangu University.
